Good ol' Clementine

I feel dumb posting this, because I know most of you know about it, but I thought I would remind you if it's been forgotten:
Talented Clementine, The
The Clementine series by Sarah Pennypacker. Too old for Mary, really but she still loves it. Lucy and Calvin laugh their hearts out. Shaemus even gets some of it.

The Thief (The Queen's Thief, Book 1)
The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner.

This is for older children (at least fourth or fifth grade and up) and I just loved it. There are a few D words. It is a series of four, so far, and if you are interested in a made up ancient time with tons of thrills, this is the book for you. I'm foisting it on Sam next. I just read the fourth and couldn't put it down. (There is also a titch of romance, which is nice.)

Angus and Sadie by Cynthia Voigt
Angus and Sadie

Calvin loved this book, which surprised me, because it wasn't full of adventure and humor. Mostly it was full of dogs and sweetness.

And finally, a picture book:

Too Many Frogs
Oh, I wish that had gotten bigger. Too many Frogs by Sandy Asher. Hysterical, sweet. The perfect picture book. Do the voices on this one!

And here's the sequel.
What a Party!
What a Party, also, of course, by Sandy Asher.

Happy Reading!

  1. I didn't know about the Clementine books, so thanks for posting that again! I am looking forward to being in a better library district so I can check out more books.

  2. I'm sad I didn't read about the sales earlier. I will make sure I make it to the next one. I am writing summer reading lists!
