Christmas book ideas for girls

Two book ideas for girls 10-14:

Gold Medal Summer by Donna Freitas
Product Details
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as someone who always sort of wanted to be a gymnast, but was scared to do cartwheels. Nice, sweet, believable realistic fiction.

The Encyclopedia of Me by Karen Rivers
Product Details
Again, great realistic fiction. It will move you and make you laugh. Possibly at the same time.

And I will throw in two classics for this age groups that your daughter (and you!) should give a try:

(Okay, I mean classics in a very loose sense.)

A Crooked Kind of Perfect by Linda Urban

Every Soul A Star by Wendy Mass

Buy them for Christmas! Your girls will love them.

And here are four Cinderella books for girls of all ages. My absolute four favorite retellings...

Smoky Mountain Rose: An Appalachian Cinderella by Alan Schroeder

The Golden Sandal: A Middle Eastern Cinderella by Rebecca Hickox

The Rough Face Girl by Rafe Martin

The Orphan: A Cinderella Story from Greece by Anthony Manna (I LOVE this illustrator and seriously wished I owned this book. For Christmas. (Mom???))
