A Great Library List

This is a great collection of picture books, in order of easiest to hardest in terms of language, but all of these are great for kids of all ages. Really.

(Remember, picture books are not just for emerging readers. Picture books are for everyone! The Matchbox Diary is the perfect example of this. Get them these the library this week and leave them around your house. Everyone will be reading!)

How Do You Wokka-Wokka by Elizabeth Bluemle (this one is soooo fun!)
Ol' Mama Squirrel by David Ezra Stein (Flannery laughs contagiously at this mother squirrel)
Prairie Chicken Little by Jackie Hopkins (You can never read too many Little Red Hen retellings)
Nelly May Has Her Say by Cynthia DeFelice (Girl Power in a castle—better than Brave...)
The Matchbox Diary by Paul Fleischman (This is truly beautiful. I'm going to try something similar with my kids.)
