We are driving to DC today for a quick, miniature, minuscule trip. Our kids have never been there, and this has made me feel suddenly, inexplicably patriotic.
So I went to the library and checked out a ton of nonfiction about American History. My plan is they will read and absorb in our hopefully no longer than four hour road trip. Then they will be calm and excited as we move from exhibit to monument to exhibit again.
I'll let you know how this romance goes.
In the meantime, Lucy and I both officially loved this:
The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen (boy protagonist! Yay for boy protagonists!)
And Shaemus and I really had a good time reading this:
Jacob Wonderbar and the Cosmic Space Kapow by Nathan Bransford
They both have sequels so if you get any takers, you've got a new series to share!
